It is used to manufacture polyethylene, and further to manufacture spirit and ethylbenzene. It is also used in the production of the PVC. In a form of ethylenglycol, ethylene is used to manufacture non-freezing fluid, but it is also frequently used in food processing industry – to ripen fruits, for instance.
