Heavy fuel oil R2 is a mixture of mostly higher hydrocarbons obtained from crude oil through distillation and other refining processes. It may contain additives to lower its freezing point, or additives to improve other characteristics.

Application
Heavy fuel oil R2 is used widely throughout industries. Application fields depend on technical as well as economic aspects, and specific operational circumstances of the consumer.
Packaging, Storage, Transportation
Heavy fuel oil R2 is supplied in suitable rail tankers equipped with heating coils, and inside specially modified truck tankers. Fuel oil storage , transportation and handling must comply with respective legal regulations (Act No. 238/91 Code, CR Ministry of Health Guideline, Railway Transportation Order, CSN 65 0201, CSN 65 6060 and others).
Transport Sign
From the point of view of transportation (transport measures - RID/ADR), the R2 heavy fuel oil is not classified as a hazardous item.
Basic Safety Data
Heavy fuel oil R2 has its flash point above 110°C.
